Portland Weekend Travel Guide
A long weekend is plenty of time to enjoy the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon. Our three night stay was filled with great food, nature, shopping and exploring the cities many sights. Check out how we used points to cover our hotel stay at the bottom of the guide.
Food
Everywhere you turn in Portland, there is a cool spot to eat, grab a coffee or a treat.
Dough Zone Dumpling House
One of our favorite spots for a quick and delicious meal was at Dough Zone Dumpling House. You’re given a paper menu and a pencil to mark your order. The food was served family style and each dish was brought to the table as it was ready.
Some of our favorite dishes included the pork and crab soup dumplings and the Dan Dan Noodles.
Bamboo Sushi
For a special dinner, we booked a reservation at Bamboo Sushi. They have multiple spots throughout Portland, we ate at the NE location. This area was full of shops and cafes that we enjoyed before and after dinner.
Our group of three shared the gorgeous Setto Platter. It included their infamous green machine roll, spicy tuna sticky rice and an assortment of chefs selection Nigiri and Sashimi.
If you visit the North West/Nob Hill location, pop over to Barista for a coffee or ice cream at Salt and Straw.
Things To Do
Views of The City & Mount Hood
Head up to Pittock Acres Park to enjoy the best views of Portland and on a clear day get views of Mount Hood. This park does have an enforced parking fee. You can enjoy the views from an easy walk and wheel chair accessible route. There’s also lots of nearby connected trails for more adventure. A popular route you can pick up from the Pittock Area is the Wildwood Trail.
Pearl District & Powell’s Books
No trip to Portland is complete with getting lost in the shelves at Powell’s Books. Visit the Flagship Location on Burnside Street, filled with over one million books.
While in the area explore nearby shops, bars, art galleries, coffee shops, restaurants and parks in The Pearl District.
IHG Hotel Redemption
